I am in a trouble now. Please help me to get out of this. I failed to pay the tax for the last year. I am too much worried about the legal procedures of late tax filings. Can you please help me to know the step-by-step procedure for the same?

And I want to know about the tax penalty too. I have read that if the returns are filed more than 60 days after the due date, then the minimum penalty is the smaller of $135 or 100% of the unpaid tax. I am confused here. I want to get a clear idea about this.

What if we file the tax over a period greater than the specified one? What would be the maximum penalty in such cases? I came across some lawyers who provide the service to those who are filing the tax late in Toronto. What is your opinion on consulting them? Have you heard about them before? If you have any suggestions on solving this issue, please share it as soon as possible. Thank you.
