A Complete Guide To Creating Your Express Entry Profile

If you want to register with the Express Entry Program, make sure you qualify under any of these three immigration programs – Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program or Federal Skilled Trades Program. Once you've determined that you've met the requirements for any one of these three programs, you can go ahead and apply for Express Entry Canada. The Express Entry process may not be easy to follow through. It's important to work with a good immigration lawyer who will help to streamline the application process. Below is a 5-step guide to help you create your Express Entry profile:

Collect all the necessary documentation

Before you visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada [CIC] website and start creating your profile, you first need to ensure that you have all the info that will be required. First, you will need to complete a language test. You will also need to get a National Occupational Classification code for all the jobs that you have done in the past. The documents required include your passport or travel document, National Occupational Classification code and position title as well as the results of the language test. If you are applying for entry to Canada due to a job offer, you'll need to attach a copy of the employment offer from the Canadian employer and a personal reference code. Other documents may be required depending on the specifics of your application.

Produce MYCIC Account

The next step is to visit the CIC website and produce the MYCIC Account by registering for a GCKey. Once you've registered, you will receive login details and you can go to the main page and access your account.

Complete your profile

Once logged in to your MYCIC Account, the next step is to complete your profile. You need to enter your Come to Canada personal reference code and all the other requested data. Once this is done, you can submit your profile online. Once the CIC reviews your application and determines that you've met all the requirements needed for Express Entry, you will be added into the list of candidates. The CIC will then select applicants who have qualified to submit their permanent residence applications. You will be informed about the specific immigration program that you can apply under.

Make your job bank profile

The next step is to create your profile on the Job Bank Website by entering all the required details.

Once you've completed the steps above, the next thing is to wait for CIC to add you into the Express Entry Candidate list. You will be notified when this happens. Your name will only be entered in this list if you qualify to apply in any of the three immigration programs mentioned above. As soon as you receive an invitation to apply, you can go ahead and complete the permanent residence application so long as you have received an employment offer or been selected by the province as a top candidate due to your level of skill or experience.
